Welcome to Grace on the Hill! We are a church growing in love for God and each other through intentional relationships, authentic discipleship, and faithfully serving our neighbors.
We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to our church. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. Through works of charity, evangelism and opening our doors to listen and love, we feel that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
In 1994, in the 97th year of our existence, the congregation of First United Methodist Church, under the clear leading of God’s will, obediently voted to relocate the church and build a new church on the hilltop we now presently occupy. A prophetic vision was given by the Lord from Isaiah 54:2… “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes…” God told us He would bring people from the North, South, East, and West. Right before    our very eyes! We are seeing the prophecy unfold before us! We are living the dream! God’s hand is upon us, and His Presence is strong in our midst.

We changed our name! That’s right, after over 100 years of being First (United) Methodist Church, the Holy Spirit lead us to “Grace on the Hill – A United Methodist Church.” The new name reflects not only our new location but the “new thing” God is doing here. We emphasize the grace of God around here a lot – God’s grace can reach anybody, save anybody, change anybody, and empower anybody to live for Christ! Plus, we are on a hilltop, so “Grace on the Hill” is who, what and where we are!

Awesome new Children’s wing and Student Ministries area! In late 2007, we dedicated our new children’s wing called “Faith Junction” to the glory of God! This 20,000 square foot facility is state of the art and reflects our desire to reach children with the Gospel and disciple them into becoming mature followers of Jesus! At the same time, we renovated almost 10,000 sq. ft. into an awesome worship center for our youth!

Inter-Denominational?   While we are very committed to our Wesleyan heritage, we believe denominational lines create barriers that keep the unchurched and dechurched away from God’s house. Therefore, we stress new life in Christ for anybody and de-emphasize our denominational particulars. Perhaps we are being more like our founder John Wesley and the early Methodist movement by winning people to Christ, discipling them in small groups, and sending them out into the world to be salt and light and hope.

A church for Anybody! Indeed, there is a lot of excitement and momentum at “Grace on the Hill”. The people here state with humility and sincerity, “We are not trying to be a church for everybody, but we do want to be a church for anybody!”
